FAQ

I separated some frequent questions regarding therapy and hiring procedures. I hope all the questions are there, but if you still have any, please get in touch. I will reply as soon as possible.

1. HOW ARE YOU HANDLING SESSIONS DURING COVID-19?

I have two options for clients during this uncertain time.

A. I offer online sessions through the GoogleMeet platform.  There are no necessary registration or downloads, and you can participate in the sessions through your smartphone, tablet, or computer device.  I discovered that working online can be just as beneficial as face-to-face. Online sessions are a new and safe way to create a strong connection with my clients.

B. In-person sessions are still an option.

I am the sole provider of sessions in my therapy room and can maintain social distance.

All sessions are scheduled to allow clients space to leave and arrive without interacting, lowering the chances of spreading COVID-19. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment to ensure your safety.

I also ask you to wear a mask before you enter the therapy room. I have comfortable armchairs that are positioned at least 2 metres apart.

On arrival, you can sanitise your hands. In addition, I can provide masks if you wish to wear one during your session. The room is cleaned and disinfected between sessions.  Our sessions could be online or offline, depending on your preference.

I ask my  clients not to attend in-person and rather have an online session if:

• They or anyone in their household, has had COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days;

• They are in self-isolation because they have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19;

• They have returned from a country in the last 14 days which requires UK quarantine

2. WHAT ARE YOUR  WORKING HOURS?

I run by appointment only and my office hours vary per day.  I do have some evening and early morning appointment times.

3. WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST SESSION?

Many people are intimidated by the thought of starting therapy. There can be a lot of concerns about what to expect.  I hope to make things as comfortable and relaxing for you as possible.  During the first session, we will discuss your hopes for therapy and explore what your goals are.  There will be some basic paperwork to complete before the first session. The paperwork can either be sent to you via email or alternatively, you may complete the paperwork at the first session, depending on the option that is most convenient for you. It can be helpful to write down any questions you may have and bring them with you to the first session.

4. HOW LONG WILL MY THERAPY LAST?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is designed to be short-term, lasting between 6 to 20 sessions. Most people begin by attending therapy once a week, although some choose to attend twice, or even once a month. Again, this is completely up to you and we shall discuss frequency at your first appointment.   The therapeutic relationship between you and your therapist is at the heart of the healing process.  I want your experience with therapy to be a positive one

5. WHO IS YOUR CLIENT GROUP?

I offer individual therapy to young adults (18+ years old), adults and older adults.  I welcome partners, parents and children to join the sessions if this has been agreed upon and constitutes part of the treatment plan.

6. HOW MUCH IS YOUR  PROFESSIONAL FEE? DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I charge £100 per 50-minute session. For now, I do not accept insurance. However, I am able to provide you with a receipt to help facilitate any reimbursement you may be entitled to.

7. DO YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICATION?

I do not prescribe medication.  You would need to contact your primary care doctor or a psychiatrist for medication purposes.  If you are already taking medication, I can discuss coordinating care with your doctor.

8. IS THERAPY CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes, the content of our sessions is confidential and I shall inform you of the legal and ethical limits to this.
